THE SECOND KEY TO RECEIVING THE PRESENCE AND POWER OF GOD IN YOUR LIFE
When you bring worship back into your walk, you are bringing back God because you are building him a tent to live in. So he said to Moses build me a habitation where I may dwell, you do it by worship and worship is the result of revelation. You can not worship God till you know God. It begins really with thanks giving, we enter his gates with thanks giving Psalms 100. and into his courts with praise. In all things I give thanks to God that's because of his goodness, but his goodness is what I can see, what he has done for me. How he has forgiven me, taken care of me, loved me, taking care of my family, answered my prayers, I thank him for that. But now I praise him why? I praise him for his greatness. That allows me to his court. What thanks giving does is opening the gates that I may walk in but praise gets me into the courts that I may stand before his holiness but only worship allows me before the holy of holiness. I can not worship without revelation because I can not worship until I know he is holy.
So I thank him for His goodness, I praise Him for His greatness and I worship Him for His Holiness.
But holiness demands that I know Him and Holiness is the totality of His being. When we say you are Holy, we are saying you are gracious, merciful, long suffering and patient, kind and loving. His holiness is the totality of who he is. That's why the angels cry out, you are holy, holy, holy, they don't cry gracious, gracious, gracious because in that word is the totality of who God is. So then worship is the result of revelation, when you get to know Jesus, everything inside of you explodes. You get to know him by spending time with him, that's the first key, the second key now becomes natural.It's knowledge, it's knowing him and him and him. Worship is impossible without knowing the Lord, you can not worship until you know him.
At a full gospel business dinner, this is a true story, they had these guy get up to read the full 23rd psalm to open the dinner, he had this great eloquent radio voice, and they all cheered and shouted when the man was done. At the end they had an old preacher come up to pray the benediction and say good night. He looked at the host and said may I also read the 23rd psalm, So the man closes his eyes and doesn't look at the bible and says The lord is my shepherd, I shall not want, no body claps at the end but they are all crying, so the host looks at this old preacher and says, how comes when that man over there opened the meeting, they all clapped and with you the same psalm they all cry? He said, " He knows the psalm, I know the shepherd" That's the difference, it's not knowing the psalm but the shepherd.
